In order to enrich the study of art, and sculpture in particular, the Villa-Legodi Centre for Sculpture publish books, digital catalogues, and an open-access, online journal in collaboration with a range of different collaborators. The Centre is also home to a library, which serves as a constant source of inspiration for resident artists and is also accessible to all on-site visitors.

IN PRINT

These are printed books that have either been published by the Villa-Legodi Centre for Sculpture or supported by the Claire & Edoardo Villa Will Trust in furtherance of the study of sculpture and Edoardo Villa’s legacy.

ONLINE CATALOGUES

Below are links to open-access digital catalogues. All of these publicatoins were created to accompany the exhibitions either held within the Centre’s Project Space, or at NIROX, following a residency at the Villa-Legodi. Most include interviews with resident or exhibiting artists, providing insight into their working processes, the different artworks on exhibition, and their practice more broadly. Others include critical reflections and essays, intended to support the study of art and sculpture in particular.

PUBLIC PROGRAMMES & RESIDENCY TRANSCRIPTS

Below are links to open-access digital flipbooks. They include transcripts from public programmes hosted by the Villa-Legodi Centre for Sculpture, as well as interviews with resident artists who did not exhibit during their stay. The transcripts therefore serve as a vital record of their time spent in residency. Often conducted midway through their residency, they also provide invaluable insight into the working process, as evidence of the way in which artists grow, experiment with, and develop their work over time.
